Walking into any one of the Inner Circle Autism Network’s clinics immediately feels different from any other autism center or Applied Behavior Analysis clinic. The space is open, airy, sunny, clean, and purposefully designed to facilitate the most therapeutic and fun interactions among children, their families, and clinicians.
Every detail is intentional. From the mock classroom to help with school readiness to the outdoor play area, the physical space embodies the Inner Circle mission and philosophy: to create an inner circle of advocates who empower children with autism and their families.
Through play-based, child-centered activities, the board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) and registered behavior technicians (RBTs) work one-on-one and in groups with children with autism on building and developing skills and competencies that help them achieve their goals.
The physical space is also designed with the people in mind who call Inner Circle Autism Network their employer.
“What makes Inner Circle unique is the intense focus and amount of research around how we approach the physical clinic space to yield the best child experience, parent experience, and employee experience,” explains David Mikula, Inner Circle Autism Network CEO.
“Our clinicians have this inherent calling … this desire to help a group of kids that probably doesn’t get the help they need all the time. As an employer, we have to create a space that makes our clinicians feel good and supports that calling,” adds Mikula.
Being the employer of choice for BCBAs, RBTs, and operations staff means that Inner Circle Autism Network understands the deep connection between a positive work environment for employees and positive outcomes for the children and families served.
“If our clinicians are going to give so much to these children, we have to give a lot back to our clinicians. It’s really important for us that if we expect them to give that high level of care, we have to provide a welcoming space for them too,” says Mikula.
